Our life’s work has been a passionate endeavor to express through Hal’s art the essence, beauty, balance and phenomenon of our beloved natural environment. The approach is based on a belief that the world needs more focus on positive and uplifting attributes of life.
Our constant challenge is to seek and attain a positive and creative mode.
Hal and I have learned to increase whatever contributes to creative flow, and to eliminate as much as possible, whatever interrupts this channel. We have identified, and seek on a daily basis, certain experiences that enhance this flow. We refer to these as Life Enhancing Experiences.
Many of our friends and collectors have begun to use, with what seems great joy and fun, our terminology and descriptions of these experiences. As they continue to crystallize, and have been adopted by others, we have come to think of them as special gifts that we are meant to share.
Your LIFE BLENDING Message paints a description of some of these Life Enhancing Experiences and how they can be added to the Basic Ingredients of One’s Life, contributing to what we call The Art of LIFE BLENDING and Enhanced Creative Flow.

The Art of LIFE BLENDING…
has been evolving since 1971. Until recently, it has been our closely guarded secret, considered significant to only ourselves. The experiences we were seeking were intimate and the terminology was developed for just between the two of us. It was our way of dealing with keeping channels open for creative flow, including smoothing out the extreme highs and lows often characteristic of creative people.
Over the past three decades our collectors have asked Hal, over and over again, certain questions such as:
Do you always feel like painting?
Do you have to wait for the muse to strike? …
What do you do everyday?…
Do you paint what you want to paint?
Do you ever get bored?
Do you ever feel burned out?
How can you and B.J. be together so much and still get along so well?
And, B.J., what do you do?
In answering these questions repeatedly, we found that our answers were based on what we refer to as LIFE BLENDING. We have come to the realization that… we are now meant to share with others this lifestyle concept.
Our living recipe…
describes what we have termed Life Enhancing Experiences, such as UnFolding, Pristine Moments, and Seek the Setting, that can be added to the more Basic Ingredients of One’s Life to increase environmental and spiritual awareness, introduce more joy and fun, help smooth out the highs and lows of life, and keep channels open for Enhanced Creative Flow. It involves learning through direct observation and participation. The proof of the pudding, from discovering and living The Art of LIFE BLENDING, is the resulting body of Hal’s works, created over three decades, while keeping a relatively even keel.
